With Spring comes more socialising,  outside activities and outdoor entertaining is back on the weekend agenda. We  start shedding the layers, book in a fresh pedicure and replace those winter boots with a pair of open toe shoes. We start getting outside more with the midday temperatures being quite perfect in early Spring. We also start getting excited about entertaining family and friends that may have seen a little less of us over the past few months while we have been rugged up in our homes trying to keep warm.

Outdoors in Spring is perfect for entertaining, its always more casual and relaxed to entertain outside but that doesn’t mean it has to be sausages on the BBQ and paper plates. You can create an outdoor dining experience that is informal  and laid-back with a little touch of sophistication. Here at The Vignette Room you may have noticed that we like to mix it up a little and not always stick to the rules.  When creating our perfect Spring outdoor entertaining space we like to mix sophisticated with rustic, old with new and as usual,  bohemian with bling.

A simple Rustic Trestle table with an array of mis-matched chairs bring the relaxed bohemian feel while the addition of your fine china adds that sophisticated touch. Why do we have our fine china hidden away for safe-keeping? Let’s  bring it out to enjoy at every opportunity.

There is no need to make it to complicated, or spend a lot of money just use your usual place mats as a table runner, (here we have used gold place mats to add a little bling) a simple bunch of flowers arranged down the centre of the table and finally add a simple Aperol Spritzer. Using your favourite Champagne, mix with a dash of Aperol, a splash of soda and an ice cube and serve it in a simple champagne goblet with a gold rim of course!

When you serve snags off the BBQ at this table setting, you will be sure to leave a lasting impression on all your guests.
